Thin? The following are the causes of difficulty in gaining weight

Rp_News88..Some people have trouble gaining weight. Moreover, increasing the number of weight, can maintain it is already difficult. Why do people find it difficult to gain weight?

The Healthline page states that there are several medical conditions and treatments that cause weight loss and difficulty gaining weight, although genetics plays a role in shaping body type and is a major factor in determining a naturally lean body type.

An overactive thyroid, or hyperthyroidism, can cause excess thyroid hormone in the body. This hormone is responsible for several elements of metabolism, including regulation of metabolic rate.

The metabolism of people with hyperthyroidism is overactive and often burns more calories throughout the day. Without proper treatment, hyperthyroidism can make it difficult for a person to gain weight, even though the amount of food intake increases.

Diabetes type 1

Type 1 diabetes is a type of autoimmune condition. The body destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is responsible for glucose metabolism.

If type 1 diabetes is not managed it will cause high blood glucose levels which are then excreted in the urine. This excess glucose excretion can lead to involuntary weight loss.

Inflammatory bowel disease

Inflammation of the intestines is a general term for conditions characterized by inflammation of the intestines.

Conditions such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, negatively impact a person's ability to maintain weight.

This condition also limits the type and amount of food a person consumes. Inflammation of the intestines can also cause frequent diarrhea which results in weight loss in some cases.

Eating disorders

There are many types of eating disorders. One of them is deliberately limiting food intake so that it is difficult to maintain weight.

Anorexia nervosa, for example, causes extreme weight loss and an inability to gain maximum weight. People with bulimia can make it difficult for a person to maintain enough calories to maintain weight.

Medicines and treatments

Certain medications and treatments that cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea can make it difficult for you to maintain your weight.

For example, antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs are generally known to cause gastric side effects. Generally, people who use this treatment lose weight and find it difficult to gain weight during treatment.

Mental illness

The Medical News Today page writes, poor mental health can affect a person's ability to gain and maintain weight.

For example, depression, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia. Each of these conditions can affect a person's body image and appetite.
